Verizon and AT&T Cell phone Subscribers Can watch Live Television

Just when you thought cell phone Internet capabilities were up to par with our needs, Verizon and AT&T cell phone subscribers can now enjoy live television feeds from most of the major television broadcasters. Is that enough to ploy subscribers from other cell phone providers to make the switch? It depends on how deep you are into American Idol!Tv live stream

Switching channels is as easy as clicking a remote and there are no lengthy downloads necessary. This is not a bunch of Web apps that lead you to downloads of streaming video, this is true broadcasting of your favorite television networks, usually at the same time as your regular television, and in some cases, the broadcast times are slightly shifted. You can catch the latest breaking news according to your favorite news network, watch live sporting events or catch full-length episodes of your favorite shows.

The technology involves encoded signals that are received by capable devises in a similar manner as HDTV broadcasts. The signals are sent openly, just like regular television or radio broadcasts, and with the right phone, you can chill out and be a couch potato pretty much anywhere you want. The mobile television service, brought to you by FloTV, is an added feature that gets tacked onto your cell phone bill, just like any other feature, and it comes out to about $15 per month.

Since the signal is broadcast so openly, plans are already underway to implement the ability to watch television in your car on a larger screen. If you are bored with your DVD collection, you can catch the game on your television screens. The solution can even broadcast all available channels on the built in GPS screen in your car, which is fully functional when the car is in park. This solution is looking like it will run about $500.

Just recently, with the Presidential inauguration, AT&T and FloTV reported record usage rates. The hour that the inauguration took place, text messaging spiked six times normal levels. Despite the crowded network, the inauguration broadcast flawlessly for most FloTV subscribers. Needless to say, it is unlikely that you will experience a lot of breakages in the broadcasts, and despite a lot of activity in your network that may cause you to drop a call here and there, your broadcast will likely stay in tact.
